Shiro Kasamatsu Exhibition 2021

The Last Shin-hanga Print Artist

活動地點: Ota Memorial Museum of Art 時間: Feb 2nd - Mar 28th 2021

A special exhibition taking place at the Ota Memorial Museum of Art looks at the works of Shiro Kasamatsu (1898 - 1991), an artist who was known for his shin-hanga prints. The term shin-hanga literally means "new prints", and this art movement gained popularity in the early 20th Century - it was seen as giving new life to the traditional ukiyo-e prints which were popular during the Edo and Meiji periods.

Around 130 works in total will be displayed at the exhibition. Adult admission is priced at 1000 yen.

如何前往

The Ota Memorial Museum of Art is located approximately six minutes on foot from the JR Harajuku Station, served by the Yamanote Line, or two minutes on foot from the Tokyo Metro Meiji-jingumae Station, served by the Chiyoda Line and the Fukutoshin Line.

Do note that there is no dedicated parking lot for the museum, and private parking can be expensive in the area - so public transportation is advised.
