One of the world's premier artists and his works feature during the current Sumida Hokusai Museum exhibition 'Edo Livelihoods by Hokusai'.
Running until early June, the exhibition depicts the working world of Japan's Edo Period through the eyes of the great Katsushika Hokusai and his students. A master lesson in observation and form, the works on display show the city now known as Tokyo, as a bustling centre of economic and craftsman-like diversity.
From selling to farming, pleasing to entertaining, the variety of familiar and not-so-familiar work types will allow visitors to the Edo Livelihoods exhibition to appreciate the source of much of modern Japan's work pedigree.
