THANKS to the service bicycles of the hotel we stayed at, we were able to go around Kofu, the capital city of Yamanashi Prefecture. The intense heat of the 2013 summer didn’t hinder us from discovering the city’s buzzing streets around the station, as well as the peaceful roads in the semi-suburb areas of the city.

Kofu City is not only developed as a commercial hub, but also as a posting station and a castle town. Hence, we saw several shopping centers, castles and parks, among others, as we went around the city in our bicycles.

A closer looked at the "castle-peak." After taking this photo, I so wanted to shout, "Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your golden hair!" Just in case, you know! (Photo: Tyra 'nell E. Pille)
