Weather in Ukiyo-e 2021

Explore meteorological phenomena through art

活動地點: Ota Memorial Museum of Art 時間: Jun 26th - Aug 29th 2021

The ukiyo-e artform has regularly depicted different meteorological phenomena, from clear blue skies to rainy downpours and gentle snowfalls to rainbows after a storm. A special exhibition at the Ota Memorial Museum of Art explores this theme of weather in ukiyo-e, with numerous works on display from the likes of Katsushika Hokusai, Hiroshige Utagawa, and Kiyochika Kobayashi to name just a few.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 800 yen, and no advance reservations are required.

如何前往

The Ota Memorial Museum of Art is located approximately six minutes on foot from the JR Harajuku Station, served by the Yamanote Line, or two minutes on foot from the Tokyo Metro Meiji-jingumae Station, served by the Chiyoda Line and the Fukutoshin Line.

Do note that there is no dedicated parking lot for the museum, and private parking can be expensive in the area - so public transportation is advised whenever possible.
