Hanabi: Beautiful Japan In Summer

Tachikawa Showa Kinen Park Fireworks Festival

There are plenty of reasons to visit Japan during summer and the abundance of firework displays is one of them! Originally used to ward off evil spirits in Japan, fireworks (Hanabi) have since evolved into an appreciation for beauty amidst cool summer evenings. A happy air hung in the air, as excited spectators head for the park where we would be seeing the fireworks. Ladies in beautiful yukata (a casual version of the kimono) strolled daintily while street vendors promote their wares. Despite the crowd, I felt extremely safe and relaxed. The first flash of fireworks started just as the sun made its descent. Immersed in a joyous setting, I was awed by the beauty of it all! Clap along with the rest of the spectators if any of the display delights you!
