On the road from Kannami to Daita and close to Koutei izakaya, Tokoji is a small, pleasant temple just set back a little from the road. It's a nice place to relax and look around slowly, checking out the small but diverse population of statues, and the great view of the countryside around. Above the temple itself there's a peaceful cemetery, and behind the cemetery there's another view, of a narrow river in a grassy valley with gentle hills beyond.

The temple hall in its garden

Statues lined up near the entrance

In the small garden there's a big statue...

...and some little statues

A view of the countryside from behind the temple hall

The cemetery above the temple

The cemetery is also home to Buddhist statues

Surrounded by greenery, the cemetery is a restful place

More memorial stones in the cemetery

The view from the path behind the cemetery

This way to the entrance

There are plenty of signs for the temple on the main road from Kannami to Daita stations
