Urakami Cathedral

0 0 Review

The Immaculate Conception Cathedral is also known as Urakami Cathedral. Located in Urakami City, Nagasaki Prefecture, this Catholic cathedral was completely destroyed during the atomic bombing of Nagasaki in 1945. Despite the catastrophic blow to the symbol of their faith, local Catholics urged the local government to allow them to rebuild the cathedral upon the same site.
