Yuzawa Kogen Ropeway was once the biggest in the world and the resort drew crowds. It is a little quieter these days but still offers a good day out in both summer and winter. The ski resort only has a few runs but links up to GALA Yuzawa and through there into Ishiuchi Maruyama as part of the 3 Mountains ski pass, making it a really big area. It is not only skiers and boarders who head up there though. The amazing views make it a popular choice for those looking to enjoy the scenery and it is also a good choice for anyone looking for a bit of sledding or snow play. There are some good restaurants up there too if you need a bit of a rest.

Down at the base of the Ropeway is another ski slope for skiers only that has a gentle slope that is great for beginners.

There are plenty of activities up at the top in summer too including go-karting, trekking and botanical gardens.
