Ming Style Beauty in Manpuku-ji

Manpuku-ji Temple in Uji Kyoto has followed Ming Style Buddhism since a virtuous Chinese Master Priest, Ingen Ryuki, established it in 1661. All the temple buildings are connected with outside roofed corridors, with plenty of open space between them. The floors of the corridors, passageways, and insides of the halls are covered with diamond-shaped gray stones. And beautiful six-angled lanterns hang down from the ceiling of corridors and passageways at constant intervals. There is a lotus pond in front of Sanmon Gate, and 60 kinds of lotus flowers bloom, in the pond and along the approach, from early July to early August.
