Theo Jansen is a Dutch artist and inventor known for his kinetic sculptures called Strandbeests, which are made from PVC pipes and move in a lifelike manner using wind power. The unique sculptures have been exhibited all around the world, and have inspired many people with their unique blend of art and engineering.
A special exhibition taking place at the Museum of Art Kochi will be Jansen's first solo event in Shikoku, where attendees can explore the world of strandbeests through videos, wooden molds and parts, sketches drawn by Jansen himself, and the tools used in their production.
Adult admission to the event is priced at ¥ 1200, and no advance reservations are required.

The Museum of Art Kochi is located around 20 minutes by car from JR Kochi Station.
