Established in 1872, Gunma's Tomioka Silk Mill attained World Heritage status in 2014. The mill played a pivotal role in Japan's silk industry and technological progress, and serves as a reminder of the country's swift modernization during the late 19th century.
A special event taking place at the mill also focuses on modernization, combining stunning projection mapping displays at the historic venue. The NAKED Night Stroll™ – World Heritage Tomioka Silk Mill is set to include a giant 45 meter wide projection mapping show featuring displays of all four seasons. Attendees can also rent NAKED Distance Lanterns® for 500 JPY, and effectively become part of the art installation themselves.
Adult admission to the Silk Mill is priced at 1500 JPY. Please note that the event dates are from October 6th (Friday) to October 8th (Sunday), and then from October 13th (Friday) to October 15th (Sunday).
