A special exhibition taking place at the Nagoya City Museum of Art looks at the works of Grandma Moses, also known as Anna Mary Robertson Moses (1860 - 1961). Grandma Moses began her painting career in her late 70's, and she is often cited as someone who successfully started a different career path in her senior years.

Approximately 130 works will be displayed at the exhibition, which span the course of her career. Along with the art on display to appreciate, the event is also a celebration of 160 years since Grandma Moses' birth.

Adult admission to the exhibition is priced at 1500 yen.

Getting there

The Nagoya City Museum of Art is located around eight minutes on foot from either Fushimi Station (Nagoya Subway's Higashiyama Line and Tsurumai Line) or Osu Kannon Station (Nagoya Subway's Tsurumai Line).

For those planning to drive to the museum, do note that there's no dedicated on-site parking lot. Patrons are advised to park at the nearby Shirakawa Park lot, which is charged at a cost of 180 yen per 30 minute increment.
