宗鄰寺始建於 1,200 年前，是山口縣最古老的庭園的所在地。宗鄰寺庭園被稱為龍心亭，以早期室町風格設計的山丘、石頭排列和兩個池塘相結合。
從二月的雪祭到七月的啤酒花園，大通公園是札幌各種活動的中心地。
