每年從11月28日至隔年二月底 , 函館的五棱郭歷史要塞點亮成為著名的星星夢想活動。大約5000左右的燈光會沿著要塞的外圍串起，作為衰弱的江戶時代（1600-1868）用來防範潛在的國際入侵威脅。這裡的燈光於每天下午5:00到晚上8:00持續發亮。一個通道沿著要塞星形結構的外部展開，使得這非常適合冬季用餐後來散步，下雪時特別地浪漫。
五稜郭要塞可從五稜郭公園前電車駅步行15分鐘即可到達。
